This year marks the “golden” anniversary of the Super Bowl, with its 50th edition taking place on Sunday, February 7th at the brand new Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, CA.
While we’ve seen 49 previous iterations of the biggest event in American football, the Golden Edition will include a few notable “firsts”. Keep reading to see how our Cyfe dashboards visualize a few of the major keys leading into the game.
Unless you’re a Broncos or Panthers fan, you’re hoping for a competitive, tense game with action & excitement from each side. Both teams are well-balanced sides that feature solid cores, inspired leadership from their top players & coaches, and league-leading defenses and offenses — it’s no surprise these two teams made it to the biggest stage. The dashboards here — which in this case include a mix of custom, Weather, Image, and Text widgets — are an example of the possibility of visualizing nearly anything, from a board presentation, to a startup pitch, to a sports competition.
Did you know?
Superstar quarterbacks and future Hall-of-Famers Cam Newton and Peyton Manning are the first former #1 overall collegiate draft picks who will face each other in the Super Bowl.
Similarly, Newton and Broncos defensive menace Von Miller represent the first time a former #1 and #2 overall draft pick from the same class played in the same Super Bowl.
The cost for a 30-second ad during the first Super Bowl was $42,500. The same 30-second spot will now cost $5 million for Super Bowl 50.
This is only the second time in Super Bowl history that the No. 1 scoring offense will play the No. 1 scoring defense. Two years ago, the Broncos had the top scoring offense and the Seahawks had the top scoring defense. Now, the Panthers have the top scoring offense and the Broncos have the top scoring defense.
Four of the last five Super Bowls have come down to the last play. Will this happen again this year?
